The Medford Arts Center’s “The HeArt of a Veteran” juried exhibition will open Nov. 6.
The exhibition will spotlight works by current or former members of the United States Armed Forces, and will be judged by author and photographer Richard Bell.
Bell is a lifelong photographer who began his career as a photojournalist and photo editor at two large metropolitan daily newspapers. He went on to own a freelance business shooting advertising and editorial photography for corporate entities, newspapers, medical centers, universities and magazines.
He also served as a Senior Lecturer at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He is currently working on personal fine art and documentary projects.
He is the author of “The Last Veterans of WWII.” The intent of his book is to enlighten and remind future generations about these courageous men and women as they tell their tales of understandable fear, grace and sometimes, humor. Let us remember and honor them.
“The HeArt of a Veteran,” in addition to in-person at Medford Arts Center, will be presented online at www.medfordarts.com. It will run through Dec. 10.
Bell will award first, second and third place winners and five honorable mentions. The first place winner will be awarded $500.
Medford Arts Center will be selling pieces submitted to the exhibition.
