Emergency volunteer agencies across the country are operating with half or less of the number of volunteers needed to fully respond to emergencies in their coverage areas. Shamong is no different.
Volunteers are needed for Indian Mills Volunteer Fire Company’s Fire Brigade and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Brigade.
The department will train volunteers!
Firefighter training (Fire One) consists of 180 hours of hands on training at the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center in Westampton. It will be arranged and paid for by the company for members of the Fire/Rescue Brigade.
Life or death situations do happen, but they are exceedingly rare. Better than 95 percent of what the Indian Mills Volunteer Fire Company does is just helping people when they are hurting and scared.
If interested, please contact the Indian Mills Volunteer Fire Company’s directly for EMS Brigade or Fire Brigade by reaching out to John Smith, fire/rescue chief, at (609) 268-1114 or [email protected].
