Election Day is right around the corner. In addition to the opportunity to vote for candidates for Federal offices (President and Congress), Moorestown citizens will also choose members to serve on Town Council. A healthy democracy depends upon educated voters who know where the candidates stand on issues of importance. To that end, MooreUnity is hosting a Town Council Candidate Forum introducing the six candidates vying for three spots on Moorestown Town Council. Our moderator will be 6ABC anchor and local Moorestonian Rick Williams.
This event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. outdoors on the Evergreen Lawn of the Perkins Center for the Arts. Voters are asked to bring their own lawn chair or blanket and spread out following social distancing guidelines. It will be streamed via Facebook Live on the MooreUnity Facebook page and filmed and posted on YouTube for those unable to attend. A link to the recording will be posted at mooreunity.com. (Due to the pandemic, if it rains, the forum will be filmed/live streamed indoors without an audience.)
At prior candidate forums, MooreUnity collected questions on index cards. Due to the need to limit close contact during the pandemic, voters are invited to submit questions for the candidates to [email protected] by Sunday, Sept. 20. (Please include your name and address in your email, so we can ensure that questions have been posed by members of the Moorestown community.)
Questions about the forum may be addressed to Karen Reiner at [email protected]. To register and obtain additional details (including any necessary changes in plans due to inclement weather), please visit www.mooreunity.com.
