The following is a release from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office:
A high school teacher has been charged for repeatedly sexually assaulting an underage victim that began when the victim was her 17-year-old student, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Cherry Hill Police Chief William “Bud” Monaghan and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins.
Bridget Sipera, 36, of Cherry Hill, was charged on Aug. 26 in Cherry Hill with one count of second-degree Sexual Assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. She was also charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for crimes that occurred in Gloucester Township.
Detectives began investigating the reported sexual assault that began in January of 2019 when the victim was a student in Sipera’s class at Camden Catholic High School and continued through March of 2020.
During the investigation into the alleged incident, police said Sipera admitted to the sexual assault which took place in multiple towns. Detectives said Sipera could face more charges.
Sipera was transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility awaiting a Centralized First Appearance.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
