At the May 4 meeting of the Inspira Health Board of Trustees, held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, new officers were elected for the 2020 term. Vineland resident Ronald Rossi, who has served as vice chair since 2012, was named the new chair, replacing Michael McLaughlin.
“What a fulfilling experience it has been to chair this dynamic board,” said McLaughlin, of Haddonfield. “In 2002, I joined what was then the Underwood Memorial board. It’s been truly remarkable to see us evolve to become one of the fastest growing health networks in New Jersey. The opening of the new Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill will be a lifetime memory for me.”
“It’s an honor for me to represent my community by leading this board. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly,” said Rossi. “The future is bright for Inspira as we continue to expand our range of services by recruiting new physicians and adding the latest technology. We’ve earned the reputation for innovation and that focus will continue.”
Rossi, owner and president of Rossi Honda in Vineland, brings a wealth of health care governance experience to his new role. He served as vice chair of the South Jersey Healthcare board, playing an integral role in the planning of the successful merger in 2012. Most recently, he has served on the Inspira board committees for compensation, facilities, labor and finance.
Serving as vice chair is Elizabeth A. Ryan. She joined the board in 2018 after she retired as the president and CEO of the New Jersey Hospital Association, a not-for-profit trade organization representing almost 400 health care organizations.
Herbert J. Konrad serves as the board’s secretary. A resident of Cherry Hill, he is president of Konrad Beverage Company in Deptford. A member of the Underwood-Memorial governing board since 1991, he was elected its chair in 2004.
Harry E. Hearing, a member of the board since its founding in 2012, resumes his role as treasurer. Active in the Vineland community, he retired in 2018 as a partner of Romano, Hearing, Testa and Knorr Certified Public Accountants after 42 years.
“It’s certainly a validation that Inspira is heading in the right direction when we can attract the high caliber of these officers and all of our trustees to oversee our organization,” said John DiAngelo, president and CEO of Inspira Health. “As this pandemic has placed us in unprecedented times, our board has fully supported the work of our front-line staff by ensuring that they have the resources they need to be safe and to keep our patients safe.”
