At its Sept. 16 meeting, the Cinnaminson Township Committee discussed the annual review audit, a park development grant and shared service agreements, among other topics.
One resolution included certifying review of the calendar year 2018 annual report. This resolution requires the governing body of every local unit to have made an annual audit of its books, accounts and financial transactions.
Failure to comply with the regulations of the Local Finance Board of the state may subject the members of the township committee to various penalties. However, the committee has met the requirements and has sent the needed information to the Local Finance Board of the state. The new certification will be adopted within the next 45 days.
The next resolution included releasing funds to CN Development I, LLC. for the improvements to Block 3410 Lot 27 in the township. The release of a maintenance bond in the amount of $138,782.93 has been recommended by the township engineer based on the satisfactory completion of the project.
The committee then discussed the Burlington County Park Grant. The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders has established a Municipal Park Development Program to provide grant funds in connection with municipal acquisition of lands for county parks, recreation, conservation and farmland preservation purposes. The committee wants to obtain a county municipal park grant in the amount of $300,000 to fund field lighting at Wood Park.
The township will have to go through a series of requirements before the plan to light Wood Park can be started. These steps include submitting the correct application and developing the correct documents.
The last resolution the committee discussed included authorizing a shared services agreement with Riverton Borough for the disposal of leaves. Leaf collection and disposal is required by the state Department of Environmental Protection as part of a municipality’s stormwater management program. Riverton has requested assistance from Cinnaminson.
While Cinnaminson has the ability to assist Riverton, the shared service agreement is also an effort to reduce local expenses funded by property taxpayers.
The next Cinnaminson Township Committee meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 7 at ^:30 p.m. in the Cinnaminson Municipal Building.
