Mt. Laurel Police K-9 units uncover CDS in two recent motor vehicle stops

The two incidents took place on Aug. 16 and Aug. 17 in Mt. Laurel.

Mt. Laurel Police’s K-9 units recently assisted with traffic stops in the township.

On Aug. 16 at approximately 2:05 pm, a routine motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of 17000 Horizon Way. K-9 Gunner alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. The search resulted in the discovery of a controlled dangerous substance within the vehicle. A 35-year-old male from Aston, Pa. and a 30-year-old from Evesham Township were both arrested. Both suspects were transported to police headquarters for processing. The driver was released on a summons and the passenger was taken to Burlington County Jail.

On Aug. 17 at approximately 10:48 p.m., a routine motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Route 73 and Fellowship Road. K-9 Nina alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. The search resulted in the discovery of controlled dangerous substances and paraphernalia. The suspect, a 34-year-old man from Magnolia, was arrested. He was transported to police headquarters for processing and released on a summons.
