As part of continuous efforts to increase transparency, Evesham Township implemented technology earlier this year to allow the township to livestream and record meetings of the Evesham Township Council.
Due to an overwhelmingly positive response from residents, as well as favorable feedback from township staff and elected officials, Evesham Township is now exploring a pilot initiative to make Evesham Township’s government even more open and transparent.
By using the same technology installed earlier this year in the court room of the Evesham Township Municipal Complex, Evesham Township is now hoping to regularly livestream and record meetings of the Evesham Township Planning Board and Evesham Township Zoning Board.
Township officials believe these steps will make Evesham’s local government more available to all of the township’s residents, businesses and stakeholders.
“We want the business of government to be as transparent and accessible as possible for all members of our community,” Evesham Mayor Jaclyn Veasy said. “Through the township’s use of modern technology and forward thinking, we want to make it easier than ever for members of our community to remain informed citizens.”
The township will move forward with this pilot initiative by livestreaming and recording the next Evesham Township Planning Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m.
The township then plans to livestream and record the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Evesham Township Zoning Board on Monday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m.
If this initiative is successful, township officials believe future planning and zoning board meetings thereafter can also be regularly scheduled for livestreaming and recording.
Township officials are excited for residents and other stakeholders to take advantage of this increased transparency and view these additional livestreams and recordings as yet another method to stay updated on events happening in the vibrant Evesham community where they may live, work or visit.
All livestreams and recorded meetings can be viewed on the Evesham Township municipal website at www.evesham-nj.org.
As always, residents and other interested parties also remain welcome to attend meetings in person.
