National Weather Service investigating second possible tornado in Mt. Laurel

The investigation comes after wind damage was reported in the township during the same time a tornado warning was issued on Thursday evening.

A tornado touched down in Mt. Laurel on Saturday, July 6. The National Weather Service is investigating a possible second tornado that may have hit the Ramblewood section of town on Thursday evening.

Two tornadoes in less than a week in the same town? It may have happened in Mt. Laurel.

The National Weather Service is conducting a storm survey Friday morning in the township after wind damage was reported during a severe thunderstorm on Thursday evening. The investigation is taking place in the Ramblewood section of the township.

This is the second possible tornado in Mt. Laurel in less than a week after a confirmed EF0 landspout tornado touched down on Gaither Drive on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. No injuries were reported, but some damage took place within the Mt. Laurel Industrial Plaza, according to Mt. Laurel Police.

The National Weather Service expects to release a preliminary report on Thursday evening’s storm by Friday afternoon.
