On July 10 at approximately 4:33 a.m., officers attempted to stop a suspicious motor vehicle. Upon seeing the officers, the vehicle shut its lights off and fled at a high rate of speed. After a short distance, the vehicle turned down a dead end street and crashed into a tree. There were four occupants that fled into the woods.
Investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Cherry Hill. A perimeter was established and the area was checked utilizing a K-9 unit and the New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit. The area was cleared with no arrests at this time. At no time was the public in danger. Detectives are currently following up on all leads. All four suspects are described as men wearing dark clothing.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau.
