The Inaugural Fourth of July Dog parade was a big success for the department of community affairs. Forty-one dogs registered for the parade including two from out of town and a pair of chinchillas. Six dogs were awarded trophies including “Most Patriotic,” a runner-up to “Most Patriotic,” “Cutest Dog,” “Best Out of Towner,” “Most Creative” and “Best In Show.” Each entrant was given a free raffle ticket to win prizes applicable to their pooches like treats and toys. A basket with treats and toys was donated by Mayor Rich DiLucia as well.
