The Log Cabin Café is having a Summer blockbuster show of live music on July 13, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the historic Memorial Hall, 108 Stokes Rd., Medford Lakes.
Back by special request is audience favorite Quixote Project, opening at 7:15 p.m., followed by Wood Sounds for their first appearance at the Log Cabin Café. Quixote Project, an acoustic roots music band founded by lead singer and songwriter Jeff Selby, has been entertaining audiences around the tri-state area for nearly a dozen years. Quixote Project’s personnel sometimes changes, but the mix of catchy originals and toe-tapping covers remains the same. “Namesake,” the new single on their upcoming album, took home Best Folk Song at the 2019 Homey Awards, with Selby winning Best Lead Vocal.
Wood Sounds features four established New Jersey artists with varied musical backgrounds, blending all kinds of acoustic music into the bluegrass format. Wood Sounds draws from traditional bluegrass, new-grass, folk, rock, and country, as well as original compositions. The members of Wood Sounds are good friends who limit the band’s appearances due to the busy concert schedules of other bands in which they play.
Light fare, beverages, and unique merchandise will be sold throughout the evening. Admission is $10 ($5 for children under age 16 when accompanied by an adult) at the door or in advance at the Protestant Community Church office (during business hours), 100 Stokes Road, Medford Lakes. The office is closed August 3 and will resume with a Fall schedule of first Saturdays of the month on September 7.
