The following submission is from Evesham Mayor Jaclyn Veasy:
2019 Budget
I understand that it is our responsibility, as your mayor and council, to ensure that your hard-earned dollars are being appropriated with great fiscal responsibility. That is why we are proud to have introduced a flat budget that does not raise taxes, with bi-partisan, unanimous support.
We were able keep taxes flat, while still ensuring residents will continue to get great services. This includes an investment earlier this year in repairing our roads and infrastructure that is reducing the years of backlogged projects.
We were also able to ensure we will be able to upgrade our software and servers in order to increase communication around town.
HERO Campaign
Last week we also launched the Hero Campaign, thanks to the efforts led by Deputy Mayor Heather Cooper and Police Chief Christopher Chew and local residents who teamed up to bring this program to our town.
The Hero Campaign seeks to end drunk driving tragedies by promoting the use of safe and sober designated drivers.
With the help of community partners, we are introducing the Highway HEROES program, which rewards local residents who have a HERO decal on their car with gift cards to our local restaurants and businesses.
The lives of our families depend on everyone to always drive responsibly.
Congrats to grads and dads
I also want to end with a big congratulations to all of our Cherokee High School graduates and a belated Happy Fathers Day to all our amazing dads in town.
Celebrating the wonderful people and achievements for those we love is an excellent way to kick off summer.
Thank you for the honor to be your mayor, and please reach out to us should you need assistance.
