Evesham Police arrest group that allegedly shoplifted nearly $9,000 in Apple products

On June 15, officers with the Evesham Township Police Department responded to the Apple Store, located at 500 S. Route 73, for a report of four four males who allegedly entered the Apple Store dressed in all black with hooded sweatshirts pulled over their heads.

On June 15, officers with the Evesham Township Police Department responded to the Apple Store, located at 500 S. Route 73, for a report of four four males who allegedly entered the Apple Store dressed in all black with hooded sweatshirts pulled over their heads.

The caller reported that once the males were inside the store, they allegedly began stealing numerous pieces of merchandise, eventually fleeing the store with nearly $9,000 worth of electronics.

Police say the witness stated that the males allegedly fled the parking lot in a light colored sedan.

Minutes later, police say an alert ETPD officer patrolling the department’s DDACTS Zone observed a light colored sedan occupied by five males allegedly wearing all black traveling on Route 73 by Maple Ave.

The vehicle was stopped, and as the officer approached the vehicle, he allegedly observed new Apple electronics in plain-view scattered throughout the car.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police say all five occupants were found to have the allegedly stolen Apple products and marijuana on their persons.

All occupants, four adults and one juvenile male, were arrested, and all stolen merchandise was returned to the Apple store.

Arrested:

A male, age 20, of Harlem, N.Y., was charged with third-degree shoplifting and a disorderly person’s offense for possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail.

A male, age 19, of Harlem, N.Y., was charged with third-degree shoplifting and a disorderly person’s offense for possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail.

A male, age 18, of Harlem, N.Y., was charged with third-degree shoplifting and a disorderly person’s offense for possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail.

A juvenile male, age 17, of Harlem, N.Y., was charged with third-degree shoplifting and a disorderly person’s offense for possession of marijuana. He was released to a legal guardian.
