Mayor’s Message: 2019 Summer Concert Series

The Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders is celebrating the 175th Anniversary of the founding of Camden County with their 2019 Summer Concert Series.

The Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders is celebrating the 175th Anniversary of the founding of Camden County with their 2019 Summer Concert Series. A Parks Events Guide is available by visiting www.camdencounty.com.  The guide will also be mailed to all Camden County residents.

In addition to the concerts listed below, the guide includes area festivals, sporting events, programs for individuals with disabilities and much more.

This year’s free concerts include:

Sunset Jazz Series at Wiggins Waterfront Park located at the foot of MLK Boulevard in Camden City. These concerts begin at 8 p.m.

June 10 – Jonathan Butler & Kirk Whalum

June 24 – Jeff Bradshaw & Friends

July 8 – Veronica Swift

July 22 – Stephen Marley

August 5 – Stefon Harris & Blackout

August 19 – Randy Becker & The Becker Brothers Band Reunion

Cooper River Twilight Concert Series located on North Park Drive in Pennsauken. All concerts start at 8 p.m.

June 13 – Quaker City String Band

June 27- Amazing Grace and the GLB Band (the best of R&B and Soul)

July 18 – Mike Boone Jazz Quintet

August 1 – William Ryan Key with special guests June Divided

August 15 – NJ State Opera “Opera under the Stars”

Sundown Music Series at Hadden Lake Park located at 13th Avenue, Park Drive and Prospect Boulevard in Haddon Heights. All concerts start at 7:30 p.m.

June 19 – Firefall with special guest Christine Havrilla

July 10 – Upstate with special guest G. F. Patrick

July 24 – JD McPherson with special guest Adrien Reju

August 21 – Anthony Green with special guest Betty Bones

South County Music Seriesat Winslow Township-New Brooklyn Park located at Erial-New Brooklyn Road, Sicklerville. All concerts begin at 7 p.m.

June 18-  The Dennis DiBlasio Quintet

July 23 – Sensational Soul Cruisers

August 24 – Frank Bey Rhythm & Blues

Lindenwold Park1000 United States Avenue, Lindenwold. All concerts begin at 8 p.m.

June 21 – Grayscale with special guests Dryjacket

August 2 – City Rhythm “Sounds of Philadelphia”

August 30 – Satisfaction – tribute to the Rolling Stones

**On Tuesday, June 11, the Voorhees Arts Center is conducting an Art Party for our community youth, ages 8 and up. Parents can drop off children to experience many different art activities including painting, sketching, photography and beading. The Art Party is at the Voorhees Art Center located in the Voorhees Town Center Mall behind the Food Court and continues from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. The cost is $10. For more information and to pre-register, contact Marianne at (609) 315-6218. These sessions are led by experienced art teachers. Thanks to Columbia Bank Foundation and Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission for aiding in funding this event.

**The first show in the Voorhees Summer Concert Series is Thursday, June 20, and will feature Asbury Fever Band,recreating the popular Jersey Shore sounds of the 70’s and 80’s. The band includes a three-piece horn section and covers such artists as Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Bon Jovi and Little Steven. Asbury Fever Bandcaptures the intensity of these legendary Jersey artists.ThefreeshowisatConnollyPark and begins at 7:30 p.m. The “Beer Garden” and food trucks open at 6:30p.m.

** Voorhees Township is offering discounted tickets to Morey’s Piers in Wildwood. Tickets are available in the Municipal Clerk’s Office at Voorhees Town Hall. Prices vary according to the type of ticket and several options are available to residents and non-residents. Voorhees also offers discounted tickets to Clementon Lake Park via our online services.
