Mantua Township and its neighbor the Borough of Wenonah held a joint Memorial Day Parade across the two towns on May 27, making stops at their cemeteries and having the respective veterans associations deliver remarks. Community organizations from both towns were present as well as the Clearview Regional High School Marching Band.
In Wenonah’s ceremony, Allison Eckstein, of Wenonah, read aloud her winning essay for the borough’s American Legion recent contest.
In Mantua’s ceremony, the committee posthumously honored WWII Army veteran Albert J. Michel and the winners of the bike contest who were Araya Agren, Kaelin Dolan, Grace Gentile, Sindey Ericco, Jase Stowe, Jack Godfrey and Haley Yeager.
