South Jersey Sports Weekly Player of the Week
Payton MacNair
Cinnaminson High School
Junior
SoftballMacNair has been a hitting machine for Cinnaminson so far in 2019. In a game at Northern Burlington last Tuesday, MacNair recorded her 100th career hit in just two and a half seasons with the Pirates. Entering Cinnamin- son’s game last Friday against Rancocas Valley, MacNair was among the region’s top hitters with a .639 batting average, nine doubles, one triple and one home run.
Quotable: “Payton is the most reliable, steady player on our team,” Cinnaminson head coach Brooke Fisher said. “Whether it’s in the field, at the plate or just around the team, she will always do or say the right things. She is a true example of a leader. She is that steady force for our lineup. When Payton comes up to the plate, you know without a doubt she’ll do her job, whether it’s a hit, move the runner, or get on base any way. Whatever needs to be done, she does it. She continues to excel due to her confidence and her work ethic. I don’t think a practice goes by where she doesn’t ask for an extra rep. Pay- ton works harder than anyone I’ve seen at this level.”
