South Jersey invited to ‘Touch the Sky’

Community members of South Jersey are invited to view Part 4, “Touch the Sky,” of Henry Louis Gates’ PBS series “Black America Since MLK: And Still I Rise” on May 7 at 6:30 p.m.

The movie event will be screened at the Parish Center of Christ Our Light Catholic Church located at 402 Kings Highway North in  Cherry Hill. The event will be co-hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill. (The Parish Center is located behind the church and at the right of the school.)

“Black America Since MLK: And Still I Rise” is a series of documentaries that examines events from Hurricane Katrina through Obama’s election and issues including incarceration, violence against African-Americans and the Black Lives Matter movement.

There is no admission fee or pre-registration needed.  A short discussion period and light refreshments will follow the screening. Young people are welcome to this film that is suitable for adults and mature teens. Anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
