This weeks Evesham Township Council meeting saw council honor two members of the Evesham Township Police Department’s Explorers program.
Explorer Alex Selnek was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, while explorer Spencer Floyd was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Each explorer attended this weeks Evesham Township Council meeting, at which time Mayor Jaclyn Veasy swore them in among their family and friends.
According to officials with the ETPD, each of the two explorers have demonstrated “high levels of dedication and leadership abilities throughout their tenure with the program.”
According to the department’s website, the ETPD Explorer program is a youth program is designed to provide life skills, character education and leadership experience to the township’s young men and women between the ages of 14 to 20.
In addition, police hope those skills will allow explorers to become productive members of society, along with providing explorers the opportunity to start a future career in law enforcement.
According to the department, those in the Evesham Police Explorer program receive “the highest level” of law enforcement instruction and hands-on experience.
