Moorestown Township Public Schools art teacher Julia Mooney began the #OneOutfit100Days project last year.
Starting on Sept. 2, Mooney wore the same, fair trade, hemp dress to work for 100 days to make a statement about what she calls the “culture of excess.”
The project, chronicled on Instagram, gained international attention from eco-activists, fellow educators and slow fashion enthusiasts.
Now, Mooney will present on her goals, community reactions, myths and facts around recycling and donating clothing, mindful consumption and dealing with her “celebrity” status at the Mt. Laurel Library.
No registration is required to attend this event on April 15.
The event will take place in the library’s Meeting Room No. 1 and No. 2 from 7 to 8 p.m.
