Mantua Township patrol summary, 20 – 27

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

March 20

  • Officers assisted the West Deptford Police with serving a warrant at a residence in our town. Two subjects were arrested.
  • Officers took a theft report for a victim who had jewelry stolen at a Wenonah business.
  • Officers conducted community policing patrols at Rita’s Water Ice during their free ice event.
  • Units responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Car Effex business.
  • Units responded to a found purse in the middle of the street on Buckingham Drive.
  • Officers took a theft report for an emblem that was stolen from a motorcycle while parked at Taco Bell.
  • Officers took a theft report for a vehicle that had the front license plate stolen.
  • Officers responded to Total Turf to have an adult removed from the property.
  • Units responded to a domestic assault in Wenonah where a male was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. He was processed and released.
  • Ptl. Hauss conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the operator for outstanding warrants.

March 21

  • Ptl. Riepen and his K-9 partner, Bane, assisted the Harrison Township Police with a vehicle sniff in which there was a positive indication of the vehicle.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute in which an intoxicated female was arrested for bloodying her boyfriend’s nose.
  • Units responded to a crash on Center Street in the area of Glassboro Road.
  • Units responded to a minor crash on Lambs Road in the area of Glassboro Road
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute between adult brother and sister.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street.
  • Units responded to a landlord and tenant dispute in Marathon Estates.

March 22

  • Officers responded to Wenonah Elementary for a student that made an unusual post on the school’s anti-bullying app.
  • Units responded to a report of a female yelling for help from an apartment complex.  The occupants were arrested for drug-related and endangering children charges.
  • Officers escorted DYFS workers to the apartment to remove the children from the previous call. A male was arrested, again, for interfering and not allowing the children to be removed.
  • Officers responded to a dispute in the Tollhouse Plaza parking lot. A female was arrested for active warrants and turned over to the county jail.
  • Ptl. Layton conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the driver for outstanding warrants.

March 23

  • Officers responded to a female who woke up and did not know where her teenage children were. They were located at a friend’s house.
  • Units assisted a motorist that had locked his keys in his vehicle at his house.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter in the area of Route 45 and Mt. Royal Road.
  • Units responded to a person who had died in an apparent suicide.
  • Officers responded to a complaint of a contractor who was given money, however, has not done any work.
  • Officers took possession of a large amount of drug paraphernalia that was turned in  by a new owner of a house that he just bought.
  • Officers took a theft report for a subject who had his license plate stolen or lost.
  • Patrols responded for a report of juveniles riding motorbikes and making a lot of noise.

March 24

  • Units responded to a noise complaint at 2 a.m. for a radio that was too loud.
  • Units checked a residence for a possible burglary, however, it was all secure and no evidence of a burglary.
  • Units assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside their vehicle.
  • Officers conducted community policing patrols at Chestnut Branch Park during the afternoon hours.
  • Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence where a male was yelling and swinging items. He was arrested for outstanding warrants.

March 25

  • A subject was arrested while being screened for court for possession of drugs.
  • Units responded to a minor parking lot crash in the Lowe’s shopping center.
  • Units responded to Planet Fitness for a subject that wanted to go to the Crisis Center.

March 26th

  • Officers responded to a traffic light that was not functioning properly on Harrison Avenue and Berkley Road.
  • Units responded to a person who was stuck under a small excavator and was reported to be trapped.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of the Bethel Mill Animal Hospital.
  • Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, assisted the Woolwich Police with tracking a patient who had walked away from a behavioral center.
  • Units responded to a house fire in Wenonah on Lincoln Avenue.
  • Officers took a fraud report where the caller was reported to be from the Social Security Administration and demanded that the victim empty their bank accounts.  The victim called police instead.
  • Ptl. Donovan and his K-9 partner, Boomer, attending the Sewell School for a community policing event.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute for an adult son that was destroying his mother’s home. He was arrested and transported to the hospital for a crisis evaluation.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute between an adult son and mother. They were arguing because he agreed to stop smoking marijuana if she agreed to stop drinking, however, someone broke the arrangement.

March 27

  • Officers responded to a traffic light that was not cycling properly on Harrison Avenue and Berkley Road.
  • Officers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Glassboro Road at Mantua Boulevard.
  • Officers responded to a complaint of people cutting down trees on her property that adjoins Tall Pines Park.
  • Units responded to a report of a burglary in progress however, it was just a tenant moving property from their window as it was closer to the vehicle than the front door.
  • Officers took a theft report due to a mobile home being broken into after being vacant for nine years.
  • Units responded to a domestic situation between a boyfriend and girlfriend in which the female was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a knife by threatening the male. There were no injuries from the knife.
