Cherry Hill resident honored by Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice

Joanne Rosen, Samaritan’s vice president of marketing and public affairs, was recognized for 25 years of service to the organization.

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice recently honored Joanne Rosen, vice president of marketing and public affairs, for 25 years of service to the not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization. Rosen, a Cherry Hill resident, was recognized at this year’s Winterfest celebration, an annual event recognizing employees and volunteers for their service milestones.

“Joanne has an enthusiasm for the sacredness and quality of life that translates effortlessly to the tireless work she does for Samaritan,” said Mary Ann Boccolini, president and CEO of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice. “Our organization would not be where it is today without her vision, hard work and expert guidance over the past 25 years.”

Rosen joined Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice as the sole marketing staff member in 1994. She served as director of marketing before advancing to director of marketing and development in 1999. She was appointed to her current position as vice president of marketing and public affairs in 2002. In this position, she leads the organization’s strategic marketing, communications and community education programs to support the advancement of hospice and palliative care and to increase the community’s access to Samaritan’s services.

In her tenure, Rosen has led marketing strategies including, but not limited to, the following initiatives:

  • Expansion of services into five South Jersey counties
  • Opening of The Samaritan Center for Grief Support and The Samaritan centers in Mount Holly and Voorhees
  • Fostering of a global partnership with Kawempe Home Care, Samaritan’s sister hospice in Uganda
  • Creation of new programs such as Palliative Medical Partners; Sukkat Shalom, a Jewish Hospice Program in collaboration with Jewish Family Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey; Via Lucis, a ministry for Catholic patients and their families; and We Honor Veterans, hospice care for veterans
  • Opening of thrift stores in Westmont and Pitman
  • Establishment of Timely Conversations, a conversation initiative to inspire the community to talk about their end-of-life wishes

“We can never thank Joanne enough for her hard work and steadfast dedication to Samaritan over the years. She has made an incredible professional and personal difference in the trajectory of our organization and we are beyond grateful to count her as part of our Samaritan family,” said Boccolini.
