Parthiv Patel was also previously among the first DACA recipients to be admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
Parker McCay attorney Parthiv Patel has become the first recipient in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, also known as DACA, to receive his law license in Pennsylvania.
Parker McCay is a New Jersey based law firm with headquarters in Mt. Laurel.
Patel was also previously among the first DACA recipients to be admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
After being initially denied for his Pennsylvania license, Parker McCay officials say he is now paving the way for all others with the announcement from the Pennsylvania Board of Examiners that DACA recipients who pass the bar exam in Pennsylvania will be licensed automatically.
As described by officials at Parker McCay, this “dreamer” went to law school never knowing if he would one day be able to practice law, which shows a clear passion to become an attorney despite the challenges.
Patel practices corporate law. He graduated from Drexel University Kline School of Law in 2016.
He was five years old when his family immigrated to the US illegally, and he is 27 years old now living in Mt. Laurel.
