Doris Virginia “Happy” Feaster (nee Kirsch) died peacefully in her home on Feb. 10 at the age of 90. She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 66 years, Richard C. Feaster. She is also survived by their son Richard Jr. and his wife Jan of Dallas; daughters Holly (Feaster) Rose of Medford and Jill (Feaster) LaPan and her husband Rodney of Haddon Township. The joys of her life were her six grandchildren,: Jason Rose and his wife Erica; Chelsea (Rose) Furnas and her husband Matthew; Alyson Feaster; Meredith LaPan; Callie Rose and Scott LaPan and a great-granddaughter Grace Virginia Furnas, namesake of Happy’s grandmother. She is also survived by 13 beloved nieces and nephews along with two sisters-in-law: Nancy Cauley and Susan Feaster.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Happy graduated from Germantown High School before attending Centenary College. Happy and Dick raised their family in Moorestown where they lived for more than 40 years before moving to Medford Leas. They were avid golfers and members of Riverton Country Club where she was the club champion of the women’s 9-Holers one year. She was also very proud of achieving a hole-in-one at the Royal Plantation golf course in 1988. Happy was a member of the Moorestown Field Club and Sunnybrook Swim Club where she enjoyed time with her friends and was an active member of the Moorestown Presbyterian Church. Happy and Dick had season tickets to the Phillies for more than 35 years and were thrilled by the World Series wins in 1980 and 2008.

Happy was thankful to God for all of the blessings she and Dick enjoyed throughout their lifetime. They loved traveling and were fortunate to have visited Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Alaska. Happy relished in spending time with family and their extended group of friends at their home on Long Beach Island and while wintering in Bonita Beach, Fla. for more than 15 years.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the aides and nurses at Medford Leas who so lovingly tended to Happy during her last months. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Medford Leas Nursing Scholarship program, to support the next generation of loving care givers.

Donations can be sent to: Medford Leas Nursing Scholarship Fund c/o Medford Leas. One Medford Leas Way Medford, NJ 08055.

A memorial service will be held at Medford Leas on Saturday, March 16th at 1 p.m. with refreshments following.
