Burlington Township Man Indicted for Sexual Assault of Minors

William L. Sanchez-Monllor was employed as a law enforcement officer with the Trenton Police Department at the time of his arrest.

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that a Burlington Township man was indicted yesterday on multiple counts of sexually assaulting two minors.

William L. Sanchez-Monllor, 37, of the 600 block of Neck Road, was indicted on 10 counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault (First Degree), eight counts of Sexual Assault (Second Degree), six counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Second Degree), two counts of Official Misconduct (Second Degree), eight counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact (Third Degree), five counts of Invasion of Privacy (Third Degree), one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Third Degree), one count of Terroristic Threats (Third Degree) and five counts of Criminal Sexual Contact (Fourth Degree).

The 46-count indictment was returned yesterday and signed by BCPO First Assistant Prosecutor Philip S. Aronow. An arraignment will be scheduled soon in Superior Court in Mount Holly.

Sanchez-Monllor, who was employed as a law enforcement officer with the Trenton Police Department at the time of his arrest in September, has been detained in the Burlington County Jail since being taken into custody.

Details of the assaults were sealed by a Superior Court judge.

The indictment against Sanchez-Monllor was presented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Eife, supervisor of the BCPO Major Crimes Unit, Special Victims Section.

The case was investigated by detectives from the Burlington Township Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Office. The lead investigators are BCPO Detective Tony Luyber and Burlington Township Detective Ruben Ortiz-Cruz.

An indictment is an accusation. Defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
