Cherry Hill East alum Elie Honig to appear at Cherry Hill Library on Feb. 19

Honig is current a legal analyst for CNN and previously served as the director of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice.

Residents can meet Elie Honig, CNN legal analyst and a Cherry Hill High School East alumnus, during a special event at the Cherry Hill Public Library on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.

Honig served as deputy director, and then director, of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice from 2012 through 2018. While director, Honig oversaw a staff of over 500 law enforcement professionals. During his time as director, the division charged and prosecuted sweeping cases against street gangs, drug trafficking organizations, illegal firearms traffickers, corrupt public officials and child predators. As director, Honig spearheaded successful statewide policy initiatives focused on bail reform, police-involved shooting response, body-worn cameras, community policing, internal affairs, witness protection and deconfliction. Honig now serves as a CNN legal analyst and executive director of the Rutgers Institute for Secure Communities and as Special Counsel to the law firm Lowenstein Sandler, LLC.

The event will include an engaging discussion with Honig about politics, his work as a former federal and state prosecutor, his start in media. There will also be a question and answer session.
