DWI driver crashes into retention pond and more in latest Mt. Laurel Police reports

On Jan. 22 at 4:54 p.m., patrols responded to the Target at 4 Centerton Road for a report of a shoplifting. Loss prevention employees reported that an 18-year-old female from Delanco concealed store merchandise and attempted to leave the store. The female was arrested and charged on a summons with shoplifting. She was processed and released pending a future court date.

On Jan. 22 at 12:07 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 1300 block of Sedgefield Drive for a report of an attempted burglary. The victim/resident reported that on Jan. 21, at approximately 3:30 p.m., she observed pry marks on the doorframe to her front door in the area of the doorknob and deadbolt lock. It did not appear that anyone made entry into the residence.

On Jan. 22 at 11 a.m., patrols responded to the area of Union Mill Road and Holiday Boulevard for a report of a motor vehicle crash. It was reported that the vehicle ran off the road and came to rest in a retention pond. Responding officers located the vehicle submerged in the pond and directed a 20-year-old male driver from Marlton out of the vehicle and onto the roof. The Mt. Laurel Fire Department responded and a member of their water rescue team was able to assist the driver out of the water. The driver was transported to a local hospital for precautionary treatment. He was charged with DWI and other motor vehicle violations.

On Jan. 21 at 6:04 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Chapel Hill Road for a theft report. The victim resident reported that sometime between 11 a.m. on Jan. 20 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 21, an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked at his residence and stole a gym bag containing cash and other personal items.

On Jan. 18 at 10:34 p.m., patrols located a disabled motor vehicle on Route 73 in the area of the New Jersey Turnpike. The investigation revealed that the vehicle sustained extensive damage due to the center median. A 24-year-old male driver of the vehicle from Sicklerville was determined to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested. He was charged with DWI and other motor vehicle violations. He was released pending a future court date.

On Jan. 17 at 8:27 p.m., patrols responded to Home Depot at 1200 Nixon Drive for a shoplifting complaint. Loss prevention employees reported that a 46-year-old male from Hainesport shoplifted store merchandise and was stopped when attempting to leave the store. The male was subsequently arrested and processed. He was charged on a summons with shoplifting and released pending a future court date.

On Jan. 17 at 7:57 p.m., patrols responded to Wegmans at 2 Centerton Road for a shoplifting complaint. Loss prevention employees reported that a 38-year-old male from Philadelphia shoplifted store merchandise and was stopped when attempting to leave the store. The male was subsequently arrested and processed. He was charged on a summons with shoplifting and released pending a future court date.
