Volunteers needed as Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused children in Burlington County

Those interested can attend upcoming information sessions in February and March.

Locals interested in helping their local communities can learn how to become an advocate for abused and neglected children in Burlington County.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Mercer and Burlington Counties is currently recruiting volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

CASA and its volunteers speak for children in court, serve as fact finders for the family court judges and safeguard the interests of the children while they are in the foster care system.

The program will hold information sessions on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m., Feb. 12 at 5 p.m., March 6 at 10 a.m. and March 12 at 5 p.m.

The sessions are less than one hour and are held at the CASA of Mercer and Burlington Counties offices in Mt. Holly, located 100 High St., Suite 301.

For more information, contact Harry Cassidy at (609) 265–2222 or sign up for a session at www.casaMB.org.
