Multiple appointments were made for the 2019 term.
The Shamong School District held its reorganization meeting this week, and Frank Locantore was sworn in for a three-year term as a board member.
The November election results for the term totaled 144 personal choice votes, with 73 votes for Locantore, 68 votes for Kristina Maupin and 28 votes for Anastasia Zuccaro.
Locantore has been serving on the board since August, after there was a vacancy on the board due to the passing of long-time board member Michael Tuman.
Locantore said he comes from a different perspective, since he has worked in municipal government for many years and he is familiar with Shamong schools through his son’s enrollment in the district.
“This is one of the most well-run, professional organizations I’ve ever been associated with,” Locantore said. “I’m proud and honored to have the opportunity to serve, and I look forward to the next three years.”
Melissa Ciliberti was elected president of the board for another term, and Jeff Warner was voted vice president for another term.
Warner has been on the board for six years and said he is looking forward to the addition of Locantore to the board, as well as Anne Ehrke’s second year as a board member.
“They’re both great additions, we lost a tremendous board member, Mike Tuman, recently, but I’m very confident that the district is in very good hands with the new members,” Warner said.
Ciliberti agreed with Warner, adding “I’m really looking forward to a great year, we’ve got a solid board who are really passionate about the district and the kids and we’re in a strong place right now.”
