Volunteers can help paint one of the showrooms at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Maple Shade on Jan. 21.
State Sen. Troy Singleton is partnering with Habitat for Humanity for his January community service project, and locals are invited to help volunteer.
The “Serve with Senator Singleton” event will be held on Monday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, located at 530 Route 38 East in Maple Shade.
Singleton, who serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Burlington County & Greater Trenton-Princeton, and a group of volunteers, will help paint one of the showrooms in the ReStore.
Anyone interested in volunteering can sign-up on the senator’s website at https://www.senatorsingleton.com/habitat_for_humanity_restore.
“It is an honor to once again partner with Habitat for Humanity for our January service event, as it is an organization that is near and dear to my heart for their efforts to provide affordable and stable housing for Burlington County families,” Singleton said.
The ReStore is Habitat for Humanity’s home improvement store open to the public that offers new and used items for 50 percent to 90 percent off the retail price.
Proceeds from the store go back to the construction of affordable houses in the community.
“As Dr. King said, ‘Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve…you only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love,’” Singleton said.
Singleton represents New Jersey’s Seventh Legislative District, which encompasses Mt. Laurel Township.
