Evesham Township Police Department announces ‘Officer of the Month’ for November 2018

Molina was involved in catching a bank robber and individuals who stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a cell phone store.

The Evesham Township Police Department has named Officer Randy Molina as the department’s “Officer of the Month” for the month of November 2018.

Molina has been a member of the Evesham Police Department for three years and police say they are commending him for his investigative skills and commitment to making the township a safer place.

On Nov. 13, Molina responded to the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 501 West Route 70, for a bank robbery in progress.

While responding, Molina was provided with a description of the individual, who had just fled the scene on foot. Upon Molina arriving on location, he began checking the area and quickly observed a female matching the description of the individual.

Upon stopping the female, Molina observed cash protruding from the females clothing.

The female was quickly arrested and found in possession of all the cash that had been stolen.

Molina was also able to track down the individual’s vehicle in a nearby parking lot and he also located clothing that she had worn and attempted to discard after leaving the bank.

The individual was charged with second-degree robbery and was lodged in Burlington County Jail.

On Nov. 18, Molina responded to assist units that had just been involved in a foot chase and then a motor vehicle pursuit with three males that had just stolen several thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from the Sprint store, located at 300 S. Route 73.

After officers terminated the motor vehicle pursuit, the individuals’ vehicle traveled into Mt. Laurel Township, where they became involved in a motor vehicle collision.

The three individuals then fled the scene on foot.

Molina was assigned to assist another officer and police K-9 Moose on a track in an attempt to locate the males.

Approximately one mile into the track, the police K-9 discovered where the individuals were hiding, which prompted the males to run across six lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike.

Molina initiated a foot pursuit across the Turnpike and into a wooded area, where he was able to locate and apprehend two of the males.

The third male was later apprehended by other officers in the area.
