From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., the all-woman chorus will perform.
The Medford Quaker Meeting will host a free concert on Dec. 1, on the night of the Medford Village Dickens Festival. Jersey Sound Chorus, an all-woman Barbershop Chorus will be there, with sequins and music and even some dancing from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 14 Union St.
“It’s all true,” said Ruth Darlington, clerk of the Meeting. “Medford Quakers are excited to host Jersey Sound as these singers ‘make a joyful noise’ in our 1814 Meeting House. No silence this night! The concert is free. Cookies are served. The House is decorated. Come on in!”
Jersey Sound Director Stephanie Brictson clarified the genre. “We sing Barbershop style — not in a barbershop! We sing barbershop harmony — a true American art form along with jazz and the Broadway musical.”
The Chorus draws members from throughout the Delaware Valley and is a top competitor among the 26 choruses in Sweet Adelines Region 19. For more information, visit www.jerseysoundchorus.org.
