Mantua Township crime blotter, Nov. 7–14

The following is on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

Nov. 7

  • Lt. Ferry responded to a subject that had stopped his vehicle, blocking traffic. He was arrested for possession of drugs and related charges.
  • Units responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street.
  • Officers took a report for a stolen license plate.
  • Officers responded to the Walgreens store for a minor crash in which a vehicle backed into a pole.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Route 45 in the Centre City section in which a vehicle struck a deer.
  • Officers responded to another crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street.
  • Units responded to a family disturbance between a father and his son.
  • Ptl. Sheilds and other units responded to a crash on Heritage Road and Route 45 and arrested a driver for DUI.
  • Officers responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a deer and the deer was still stuck under the vehicle.

Nov. 8

  • Officers responded to an overdose in which a 23-year-old male unresponsive due to heroin.
  • Officers responded to a neighbor dispute over littering.

Nov. 9

  • Units responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a deer on Tylers Mill Road.
  • Officers brought in a young dog wandering the streets of Wenonah. It was brought to the station until its owner was located.
  • Units responded to a crash in which it was reported that a vehicle crashed into a building. Upon arrival, it was learned that a vehicle had struck a trash can, not the building.
  • Units responded to a shoplifting at the Home Depot in which the accused left in a silver Pontiac with a plastic bag covering the bumper.
  • Officers had to make a death notification as a family member overdosed in a different town, but their family lived in Mantua.
  • Officers took a harassment complaint in which the victim was receiving harassing text messages from their neighbor.
  • Officers responded to a family dispute between husband and wife.
  • Ptl. Oldrati arrested a subject that was wanted in NCIC out of Pennsylvania. They were placed in the Gloucester County Jail until their extradition.
  • Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for an outstanding warrant.

Nov. 10

  • Officers conducted their monthly car seat event at Mantua Fire Headquarters in which specially trained officers help family members properly install their child seats in their vehicles.
  • Units responded to a fight between an employee and his manager.
  • Units took a hit and run crash report in the Timberline Shopping Center in which a driver found that their vehicle was struck while it was parked in the parking lot.
  • Officers responded to a crash in which a vehicle had struck a deer on Main Street.
  • Officers assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their vehicle at the PetSmart.
  • Units responded to a crash on Mt. Royal Road in which a vehicle had struck a deer.
  • Officers responded to the Dollar General for an intoxicated patron harassing other customers.
  • Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, assisted Glassboro Police Department with a track looking for a subject from the Auto Zone.

Nov. 11

  • Units responded to a family dispute between a couple. The male subject was arrested for domestic assault.
  • A purse was located in the roadway and returned to its owner.
  • Members attended the annual Township Veterans Day ceremony at the municipal building.
  • Officers supervised community service workers that cleaned up litter on the roadway in the area of Berkley Road
  • Ptl. Riepen and his K-9 partner, Bane, assisted East Greenwich Police Department with a vehicle sniff on a car stop.
  • There was a family dispute at the Masonic Lodge in which people that rented the hall had an argument over birthday cards.
  • Officers responded to an unwanted person in which the caller’s ex-girlfriend was sitting in front of his house for the past 10 hours.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute in which the neighbor heard the couple arguing.
  • Units responded to a single-vehicle crash on Center Street in which the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned.
  • Ptl. Layton responded to a party in which underage juveniles were consuming alcohol. They were charged and released to a parent.

Nov. 12

  • Officers assisted a disabled motorist that had a flat tire. Officers transported the driver at 2 a.m. to get the tire repaired.
  • Officers took a theft report in which the victim’s credit card was stolen from his unlocked vehicle.
  • Units responded to a family dispute over a will to an estate.
  • Officers responded to a residential burglary and the detective bureau is investigating.
  • Officers responded to an overdose in which the family administered Narcan prior to police arrival.
  • Officers assisted a motorist at Chestnut Branch Park that had locked their keys in their vehicle.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute between a couple that were arguing in their driveway.

Nov. 13

  • Officers assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their vehicle while parked at their house.
  • Units responded to a single-vehicle crash that had hydroplaned and ran into a ditch. Officers were able to extricate the driver and he was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
  • Officers took a fraud complaint in which the victim had their identity stolen and had several credit card accounts opened in their name.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the street in the area of Kohl’s store. The argument was over stolen pills without a prescription.
  • Officers responded to the same couple from above at their residence in Center City for a domestic assault. The male was arrested for striking his girlfriend and placed in the county jail.
  • Officers checked a vacant house that was reported to have a subject inside of it.
  • Ptl. Krieger conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested two occupants for drug possession.

Nov. 14

  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the subject was providing him with a false name during the car stop.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Barnsboro Road in the area of Jefferson Road.
  • Units responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of Louie G’s Deli on Center Street.
