HOPE Church in Mt. Laurel set to hold first Christmas Eve service

The service will take place on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. at HOPE Church’s Mt. Laurel location at the Mt. Laurel Community Center.

HOPE Church in Mt. Laurel, located at the Mt. Laurel Community Center at 100 Mt. Laurel Road, will hold its inaugural Christmas Eve service on Monday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.

Although the church began in Voorhees nearly 28 years ago, the church expanded to its second location in Mt. Laurel at the beginning of this year.

HOPE Church will also be holding its regular Sunday morning worship service the day prior on Sunday, Dec. 23 at its Mt. Laurel location from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

In addition to the events at the church’s Mt. Laurel campus, HOPE Church also has many holiday events planned at its Voorhees campus.

On Saturday, Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m., HOPE Church’s Voorhees campus will hold its annual Christmas Tree-Lighting event where the entire community is invited to come out to this free event for some “good, old-fashioned Christmas fun.”

The event will feature an outdoor stage filled with performers, booths with fun children’s activities, hot chocolate and cider, popcorn and cookies and even a certain bearded guy in the red suit.

The church will also be giving away a $100 Visa gift card.

HOPE Church’s Voorhees campus is located at 700 Cooper Road in Voorhees.

The kids of HOPE Church also invite the public to their performance of “Straight Outta Bethlehem” on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the church’s Voorhees campus.

Church officials describe this show as a re-telling of the Christmas story that shares the eyewitness account of some orphans living at the Inn of Bethlehem, who are present for the birth of Jesus Christ. The show also features singing animals, disco angels and 70s shepherds to round out this cast of characters. Nursery care is available, and all are welcome to attend.

The church will also host Advent Reflections on Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church’s Voorhees campus. Officials describe the event as a time of worship and reflection on the Kingdom of God.

Nursery care is available, and the church’s Family Ministry will offer programs for children from third to fifth grade during this time as well.

On Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m., HOPE’s Worship Arts Ministry presents “The Big Star Theory” at its Voorhees campus.

Members of the public are invited to join to watch adult and youth choirs, HOPE Players and members of HOPE’s praise band.

“The Big Star Theory” is an original script that follows four lovable nerds as they try to figure out why there is a bright star in the sky. Their journey leads them to Jerusalem and an encounter with a nasty King Herod. As they continue on to Bethlehem they bring gifts for a newborn baby, officials say the nerds will discover that “this baby is the most perfect gift of all.”

All are welcome and nursery care will be available.

HOPE Church in Voorhees will hold its kid-friendly, Family Christmas Candlelight Services on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. and again on Monday, Dec. 24 at 3 p.m. Officials say this service is specifically designed with children and families in mind.

There will be three Christmas Candlelight Services, geared more for adults: Sunday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. and then again on Monday, Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Childcare is available.

Similar to the Mt. Laurel Campus, there will be one Sunday morning worship service on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at HOPE Church’s Voorhees campus.
