Evesham Police arrest woman on charges for allegedly stealing $1,400 from local bank

Police say an officer located a female matching the description of the woman who allegedly robbed after the incident.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m., officers with the Evesham Township Police Department responded to the Wells Fargo Bank located at 501 W. Route 70 for the report of an alleged bank robbery that had just occurred.

According to police, a bank employee reported that a female allegedly walked into the bank wearing a poncho and presented a teller with a note demanding money. Police say female was given approximately $1,400 cash, and then allegedly fled the bank on foot.

According to police, officers quickly responded and established a perimeter around the scene. Then, police say an alert ETPD officer located a female matching the description of the woman who allegedly robbed the bank walking through the lot of 601 Route 70. As the officer approached the female, police say the officer observed a large amount of cash allegedly protruding from her front sweatshirt pocket.

Police say the female was arrested and all proceeds were recovered. According to police, the female’s vehicle was also located in a nearby business parking lot during a subsequent search by officers. The vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant execution.

Arrested:

A female, age 44, of Philadelphia, was charged with second-degree robbery. She was lodged in the Burlington County Jail without bail.
