Layton, Zimmerman re-elected to committee seats

According to unofficial results published by the Gloucester County Board of Elections, incumbents Shawn K. Layton and Robert T. Zimmerman were re-elected to their seats in the township committee.

Mantua Township committeemen Shawn K. Layton and Robert T. Zimmerman were reelected to the township committee on Tuesday.

Layton and Zimmerman ran uncontested for the two open seats on the committee, according to unofficial results released by the Gloucester County Board of Elections. Both were uncontested.

Zimmerman received 4,800 votes and Layton received 4,783. 109 votes were casted as a write-in.

Layton has been serving on the Mantua Township committee since 2017. Zimmerman has been serving on the township’s committee since 2008. The two were elected serve a full, three-year term.

In the Mantua Township Board of Education election, voters elected Emily Pedersen, Michael Magilton and Stephen J. Reiners for three open seats for a full, three-year term.

Pedersen earned 3,737 votes, Magilton earned 3,168 and Reiners earned 3,128 votes. 58 votes were casted as write-ins.

In the Clearview Regional School District Board of Education in Mantua Township, voters elected Lisa M. Nole to serve a full, three-year term. Nole received 1,650 votes. Amy Gregg received 1,584 votes and Karen Vick 1,089 votes. The two ran against Nole for the Mantua Township vacant seat in the election.

All results are unofficial until the board of elections certifies them. These numbers do not include mail-in or provisional ballots.
