Cherokee High School teacher arrested on charges for alleged sexual activity with student

Brantley Cesanek was charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct.

The following information is on file with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office:

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that Brantley Cesanek, 30, of Haddon Township in Camden County, has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his students at when she was between the ages of 16 to 17.

According to officials, an investigation was initiated by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Evesham Township Police Department when it was reported that Cesanek, a Latin teacher at Cherokee High School in Evesham Township, allegedly had a sexual relationship with a student in 2016 and 2017.

According to Colalillo, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Haddon Township Police Department joined the investigation once they began to believe the alleged sexual assaults took place in Cesanek’s home on the 300 block of South Park Drive in Haddon Township.

Officials say Cesanek was arrested on Oct. 30 in Haddon Township without incident. According to officials, Cesanek is currently being detained at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.
