The Haddon Fortnightly announces author lecture series kick-off

First event, scheduled for Nov. 18, to feature Aileen Bordman presenting her book about Claude Monet’s home life

Do you often wonder what motivates an author to write a particular book? Do you like to delve more deeply into the topic and setting an author has explored in writing? If so, then spread the word and consider bringing a group to the kick-off event in The Haddon Fortnightly’s 2018–19 author lecture series.

This year’s first author is Aileen Bordman, whose new book, Everyday Monet, shares the story of Claude Monet and his beautiful home and gardens at Giverny in Normandy. This event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Haddon Fortnightly clubhouse, 301 Kings Highway East.

Come and spend a delightful afternoon discussing art, history, gardening and cooking. Learn about the artist’s lifestyle from an insider with extraordinary access to Monet’s lovely home and gardens. Hear Ms. Bordman’s suggestions for infusing the beauty of Monet: his art, home and gardens, into your own home and life.

Following the lecture, the author will sign books (supplied by Inkwood Books of Haddonfield), and guests may enjoy a reception with delicious light refreshments typical of what Monet served to his guests at his home.

Admission to the lecture and reception, plus a signed copy of Everyday Monet, is $40. Admission to the lecture and reception only is $20. Reserve your tickets now by calling (856) 428–9290 or emailing [email protected].
