Kate Wilson makes her case for Nicole Gillespie and Brian Donnelley.
I am writing to ask that as we enter the last few weeks of the 2018 election season, Moorestownians take the time to look at the skills and experience that the different candidates for town council bring to the table.
I’m grateful to anyone willing to volunteer their time and energy to help our town, but in this year’s race, I believe that Nicole Gillespie and Brian Donnelley bring a unique combination of talents that Moorestown needs. Both of them have shown their commitment to service. Nicole was in the Navy for five years. Brian was a marine for eight years and is now a JAG lawyer.
Both of them are experienced business people who value fiscal prudence and financial openness. Nicole runs a non-profit employing 25 people, and Brian works with both large corporations and small businesses at his law firm, Donnelly LLC. Both of them operate with the highest integrity. As they campaign, I hear them talk about what they want to do to move Moorestown forward, rather than focusing on what has happened in the past.
Spend time with Nicole and Brian and you’ll find out that they’re running for town council to increase transparency (making sure that our council is listening to and working with all residents). They’re focused on fiscal responsibility (making sure that contracts are fairly bid out and that we have a long term infrastructure plan). They want to encourage economic growth and revitalize main street by partnering with the MBA to bring new solutions to encourage businesses into our township.
I hope that in a time when party politics has become increasingly divisive and unpleasant at a state and national level, in our local community we can put this aside and vote for candidates, who happen to be Democrats, but more importantly, who have the right skills to move Moorestown forward.
