Seneca High School business teacher earns Next Gen Personal Finance fellowship

Seneca High School business teacher Brenda Martin-Lee is investing in her career and her students’ futures through her Next Gen Personal Finance fellowship.

Martin-Lee was one of 24 teachers selected out of more than 200 applicants nationwide to attend the Next Gen Personal Finance Summer Institute that took place June 24 through June 27.

Soon after the 2017–2018 school year came to a close, Martin-Lee packed her bags and was on a flight to Palo Alto, Calif. Throughout the program, she learned various training methods to enhance communication with her students to get them engaged in personal finance conversations as a means of bouncing thoughts off of one another.

Araujo returns to give Seneca scoring threat, reason to believe in run at states

Jaimi Araujo, a senior who will play college soccer at Duquesne University, rejoined Seneca for her final prep season after spending her junior year playing for Sky Blue of the United States Soccer Player Development Academy. Araujo will bounce between the forward line and midfield for the Golden Eagles, who lost their first two games during the first week of the season to perennial Olympic Conference heavyweights Shawnee and Bishop Eustace.

Inspirational staff members were recognized at this week’s LRHSD meeting

This week’s Lenape Regional High School District meeting shined a spotlight on staff who stand as inspirations to others.

The meeting began with a presentation honoring the district Teacher of the Year, Seneca High School science teacher Dusty Carroll.

Cherokee High School principal Donna Charlesworth recognized two school resource officers and two security staff members, who worked together to use security technology and the established protocol to identify an individual who tried to enter the high school.

Jammie Clements, Bob Hansbury, Bruce LaCarte and Ben Kozarski were recognized for their efforts.
