“At Ockanickon, I’ll be working with guest groups and ensuring that their time here is the best possible experience it can be, and I’ll be overseeing our BOLD & GOLD program,” Yard said. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the Ockanickon staff who work together to make experiences amazing. One of the joys in previous jobs has been to mentor staff and see them really grow and learn from taking on leadership of groups and reflecting on those experiences. I expect there will be opportunities for that here as well. I’m also looking forward to getting to know the groups who come and learning about their visions and what drives them.”

Medford resident to be featured on ‘The Walking Dead’

Medford resident Jadyn Krouse is making a breakthrough in her acting career at the age of 13.

Her mother, Nicole, stumbled upon a casting call for “The Walking Dead” that was posted to Facebook in July. After sending in Jadyn’s resume, they were notified she had been cast as an extra for the ninth season, which starts airing on Oct. 7 on AMC.

The meeting began with a presentation honoring the district Teacher of the Year, Seneca High School science teacher Dusty Carroll.

Cherokee High School principal Donna Charlesworth recognized two school resource officers and two security staff members, who worked together to use security technology and the established protocol to identify an individual who tried to enter the high school.
