Washington Township Education Foundation to sponsor second annual comedy show on Oct. 5

Press release from Washington Township Public Schools

Local standup comics Dave Evans, Jerrold Benford and Steve Cooper will contribute to a laugh-out-loud night of fun when the Washington Township Education Foundation sponsors its second annual comedy show on Friday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. at Reflections on 198 Fries Mill Road in Turnersville. In addition to the comedy, attendees also will be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their own beverages, snacks and sense of humor for what promises to be a night of levity and laughter. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.

Non-refundable comedy show admission tickets are $30 each. All checks should be made payable to the Washington Township Education Foundation and may be mailed to: Charlie Doud, WTEF President, 206 East Holly Avenue, Sewell. Patrons can also secure tickets through Venmo at @chunky-doud.

Headliners will include:

Dave Evans is an accountant turned comedian. While that combination may not sound like it adds up, Dave has performed all over the Northeast, including the best clubs in New York City and Philadelphia. His dry, sarcastic humor is a cross between Jerry Seinfeld and Ray Romano. Dave is a regular in Atlantic City with ACJokes.com, making appearances at the Playground Pier comedy club, as well as Anthem Lounge inside the Tropicana.

Jerrold Benford is becoming a fixture on the eastern comedy circuit. Born and raised in Virginia, Benford began his career in New Jersey, where he quickly made a name for himself at New Jersey and New York’s finest clubs, as well as featuring and headlining at clubs, colleges and private functions all over the tri-state area. Benford’s distinctive perspective on dating and marriage topics combines with a high-energy, friendly delivery to create clever content, and his quirky, unique writing style has wowed crowds. He is a regular performer with ACJokes.com.

Steve Cooper performed more than 2,500 shows in the early 1990s and recently has made a return to the world of stand-up. He has opened for Denis Leary and Andrew “Dice” Clay and many other top acts. His humor — considered “creative stupidity” — blends his observations and social commentary. He also has a successful blog called Cooper Talk, where he skewers society and shares his views on life, while also interviewing comedians, actors, athletes and more (coopertalk.net).

For additional information or to purchase tickets via check payment, please contact WTEF president Charlie Doud at (856) 534–4268.
