South Jersey residents wondering how to improve their health can find answers on Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Cherry Hill Mall. The “Centria Autism Services Presents: Health & Wellness Expo with Dr. Oz” will bring local health organizations, wellness experts and the famous Dr. Mehmet Oz together for an afternoon of candid discussions about health.

Lisa Wolstromer, senior marketing director for the Cherry Hill Mall, said FOX 29, Oz’s affiliate station for his show, approached the mall about hosting the event back in January, and they were eager to host the event.

From noon to 1:30 p.m., Oz will host a panel with local health professionals from Centria Autism Services and Jefferson Health of New Jersey in the Grand Court section of the mall. Oz’s discussion, titled “The Good Life,” will focus on giving attendees tools as they navigate the path to health and happiness.

Oz will utilize video clips, live demonstrations and other tools to engage with the audience. Expo-goers will have the opportunity to submit a question, and during his speech, Oz will dispense advice on a handful of audience members’ submitted inquiries.

A vendor showcase will also be taking place throughout the afternoon. A variety of doctors, dentists, surgeons and other healthcare professionals will have booths set up to answer attendees’ pressing questions. Wolstromer said the expo will also feature experts on topics such as banking, insurance and travel, which all contribute to living the “good life.”

Joseph W. Devine, president of the New Jersey Division of Jefferson Health, said there will be a variety of on-stage presentations at the expo before and after Oz’s speech including CPR training, healthy cooking, chair yoga and a presentation on breast health.

“This is an ideal way to make a connection with a big cross-section of community members who, like most people, are probably looking for ways to take care of their own health and wellness needs,” Devine said.

The Health & Wellness Expo is sponsored by Centria Autism Services, The Sun Newspapers, Jefferson Health New Jersey, Horizon Connect of New Jersey and Orangetheory Fitness. The event is free and open to the public, and seating is on a first come, first served basis. For more information, visit https://drozcherryhill.eventbrite.com.
