Jason Kelce, Malcolm Jenkins named keynote speakers for 2018 Katz JCC Sports Award Dinner

The event is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 17, beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Jason Kelce, Philadelphia Eagles starting center and Malcolm Jenkins, Eagles free safety, will be the keynote speakers at the Katz JCC’s eighth annual Sports Award Dinner, presented by NFI and the Ravitz Family Foundation, on Monday, Sept. 17.

“The Sports Award Dinner is also about honoring members of our community for their volunteerism and participation in athletics. Our honorees this year will definitely inspire others to follow in their footsteps,” added Jason Ravitz, event co-chair and representing presenting sponsor the Ravitz Family Foundation.

Kelce and Jenkins will join the ranks of past Sports Award Dinner keynote speakers including Donovan McNabb, Cole Hamels, Shane Victorino, Aly Raisman, LeSean McCoy, Chip Kelly, Charles Barkley and Brian Dawkins.

This past season, Kelce started in all 16 games and was selected as a first-team All-Pro. Jason was the highest rated offensive lineman and named Run Blocker of the Year by Pro Football Focus. He is the recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award, which is given to select NFL players as voted on by their teammates as role models of inspiration, sportsmanship and courage. Kelce is forever endeared by fans by famously dressing as a mummer and giving an impassioned speech during the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade.

Jenkins, a dynamic playmaker and pillar in the Eagles locker room, will begin his sixth season with the Birds this fall. He has earned two Super Bowl titles in his career, and just last season finished the season with 76 combined tackles, two interceptions and a sack in 16 games as a starter. He is committed to impacting the lives of youth and communities through The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation. In 2017, he was awarded the NFLPA Byron Whizzer White Award, the highest honor bestowed on NFL players for his profound dedication to positively impacting his team, community and country.

The JCC Sports Award Dinner is open to the public and recognizes community leaders who serve as positive role models to children, teens, and adults in South Jersey. Kelce and Jenkins will speak about the inspiring impact that sports have had on their lives and share highlights of their careers, most notably being crowed Super Bowl LII Champions. In addition to Kelce and Jenkins appearing, the event will honor three local Jewish community members who have made an impact in sports.

The JCC Sports Award Dinner will begin at 5:45 p.m. In addition to keynote address from Kelce and Jenkins and awards to the three honorees, the event includes dinner and dessert and a sports memorabilia auction. General admissions tickets and patron ticket packages with reserved seating are also available. To purchase tickets, visit katzjcc.org/sportsaward or call Nancy Caporusso (856) 424–4444 ext. 1267.

Proceeds from the Sports Award Dinner will provide financial assistance and services for children of all ages and abilities. Services include youth sports leagues, nutrition counseling, wellness classes, obesity prevention and adaptive fitness and aquatics programs for those with special needs.
