Washington Township Police aid Monroe Township Police in arrest of hit and run suspect

Press release from Monroe Township Police Department

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on August 14, a Washington Township man was taken into custody at his residence by Monroe Township Police. Officer Rocobaldo charged him with the third degree crime of endangering an injured victim. He was sent to the Salem County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Additionally, he was charged with several motor vehicle violations. He was operating a 2000 Dodge Dakota at the time of the hit and run. Through the course of the investigation it was learned that he listed and sold the vehicle on Craigslist the day after the collision.

The Monroe Township Police Department would like to thank the Washington Township Police Department with their assistance in the investigation. Specifically Officers Walton and McGovern as they were able to positively identify the accused and relay that information to MTPD.
