Those looking to spend some leisure time reading or watching a few movies this fall can start shopping for bargains at the next Friends of the Library’s used books and media sale set for Sept. 6 to Sept. 9.
Organized by category, most of the books cost just 50 cents to $1 each and were not available at previous Friends’ sales.
Shoppers can find a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction titles, including many children’s books.
They can also explore books about history, science fiction, crafts, cooking, business, hobbies, biographies, music, self-help, art, travel, religion, science, technology and more. In addition, officials say there will be a selection of specially priced coffee table, art, and oversized books for sale.
Officials say the Friends also recently accepted a large donation of DVD movies as well as music CDs, which will cost just $1 each. There will also be a limited selection of individually priced vinyl records available at this sale.
Shoppers can also purchase Friends logo tote bag for just $10 to carry there purchases, and as a bonus, each bag comes with a $2 discount toward all sale books and media items.
The first 300 shoppers to purchase items will receive a $1 coupon that may be used at any upcoming Friends sale, including the next one scheduled for Nov. 29 to Dec. 2.
The sale will run Thursday, Sept. 6, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition, a preview sale offered to Friends members only will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Those interested can become a Friends member at the door for $15 per person, $20 per family, or $10 per senior or senior family.
