Mt. Laurel Police list report of copper pipes and baseboard heaters allegedly stolen from vacant property

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On July 30 at 11:49 a.m., patrols with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department were dispatched to the 5000 block of Church Road for a report of a vacant house that was vandalized.

Police say a witness reported she believed the vacant house recently had the copper pipes and electric baseboard heaters stolen from the property.

According to police, she also reported that on July 30 at 8:15 a.m., she witnessed a white work van entering the driveway of the vacant property.

Police say the witness reported two unknown males, and when the witness went to speak with them occupied the van, they told her they were there by direction of the realtor to take photos of the property.

When the van left the location, police say the witness checked the vacant property and discovered it was burglarized. She then called the police.

On July 30 at 6:19 p.m., patrols were dispatched to Roland Avenue for a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim reported she rode her bike to work on July 30 at 4 p.m. and left it unsecured near a tree stump at the rear of the building. At approximately 6 p.m., the victim noticed the bicycle missing from the location.

On July 29 at 7:08 p.m., patrols were dispatched to Life Time Athletics on Church Road for report of a stolen wallet. The victim reported on July 29, between the hours of 3:30 and 6:22 p.m., an unknown person stole his wallet containing his credit cards from his gym locker.

On July 29 at 5:48 p.m., patrols were dispatched to the 3000 block of Route 38 for a report of an intoxicated driver operating her vehicle in the area of the Bank of America Plaza near Larchmont Boulevard. Patrols located the vehicle in parking lot of Bank of America. Investigation revealed that the driver, a 58-year-old female from Mt. Laurel, was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and charged with DWI and multiple other motor vehicle violations. She was processed and released to a family member pending a future court date.

On July 28 at 11:06 a.m., patrols responded to Best Buy on Nixon Drive for a report of a phone scam. Upon arrival, the victim reported the caller tricked her into believing her son was in an accident involving property damage where the caller and her son agreed she could pay the caller via Best Buy gift cards. The victim responded to Best Buy and purchased two, $2,000 gift cards and provided the numbers over the phone to the caller. The cards were immediately used in Texas and Florida.

On July 28 at 9:07 a.m., patrols developed information that a 26-year-old male from Willingboro with active warrants for his arrest was staying at a hotel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road. While in the area of the hotel, patrols observed the male exit his hotel room and enter his personal vehicle. Patrols approached this male and advised him he had active warrants for his arrest. The male refused to exit his vehicle and while patrols attempted to remove the male from the vehicle, the male exited the vehicle and ran. After a brief foot pursuit, patrols took the male into custody. The male sustained minor injuries and was treated by medical personnel. No officers were injured. The male was processed and charged on a summons for resisting arrest by flight. The male was then transported to a Screening and Crisis Intervention Program unit for suicidal comments he made for officers to kill him.

On July 28 at 3:02 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Marne Highway. Investigation revealed the driver, a 29-year-old male from Mt. Laurel, was driving while intoxicated. The male was arrested and charged with DWI and multiple other motor vehicle violations. He was processed and released to a family member pending a future court date.

On July 27 at 8:07 p.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 100 block of Diemer Drive for a report of stolen property. The victim reported she left her groceries as well as diabetes medication outside of her room while she went to the front desk. Upon arrival back to her room, her groceries and medication were missing. There are no suspects, witnesses, or video surveillance of the theft.

On July 27 at 1:10 p.m., patrols conducted a pedestrian stop in the parking lot of Walmart on Route 73. It was discovered that a 29-year-old female from Edgewater Park had several outstanding warrants for her arrest totaling more than $2,900. The female was taken into custody and search incident to arrest revealed she was in possession of heroin, crack cocaine, numerous needles, marijuana and several glass smoking pipes. She was processed, placed on summons for possession of heroin, crack, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and hypodermic needles. All agencies with warrants for the woman’s arrest were contacted and released her pending new court dates. She was released on a summons pending a future court date.

On July 26 at 8:52 p.m., patrols responded to the Target on Centerton Road for a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival, loss prevention staff reported two unknown females concealed an estimated $200 worth of merchandise within a handbag and then departed the store without paying for the merchandise. The identity of the females was unable to be established, as neither had been detained by loss prevention. Video surveillance was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

On July 26 at 3:02 p.m., patrols responded to Normandy Drive for a report that an unlocked vehicle was entered overnight. The victim reported on July 26, between midnight and 7:45 a.m., an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in front of her home. The victim did not report any items missing. There are no suspects, witnesses, or video surveillance of the incident.

On July 26 at 2:52 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Trescott Place for a report of credit card fraud. The victim reported that she received an email notification for an unauthorized $423.20 charge on her credit card to Delta Airlines. The victim reported she did not make these charges and immediately canceled her credit card.

On July 26 at 2:15 p.m., patrols responded to the 3000 block of Route 38 for a report of a juvenile in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, specifically, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD). Patrols and the guardian of the juvenile arrived on scene. The juvenile, a 16-year-old male, turned over a tablet of LSD to police. The juvenile was charged on a juvenile complaint and released to his mother.

On July 26 at 1:26 p.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 1000 block of Route 73 for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person took the vehicle, which was described as a 2003 white Honda Accord in the parking lot of the hotel.

On July 26 at 10:30 a.m., patrols responded to a business on the 3000 block of Church Road for a report of check fraud. The complainant reported that their society rents space in NYC and receives monthly invoices from the landlord. The society received a fraudulent invoice, which stated to mail the check to an address in Texas. They mailed a check for $1,200 and later found out from the landlord that the invoice was fraudulent. The check was cashed at the Credit Union of Texas. The Credit Union of Texas was contacted and advised the name used on the check has a history of being used fraudulently.

On July 26 at 9:14 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on Walnut Lane for a report of attempted theft by extortion. The victim reported receiving an unsolicited e-mail from a subject claiming to be “Gus Javier” who claimed to have installed malware on her computer and obtained her passwords. He advised her that he has video of her that he obtained from her computer and requested approximately $3000 worth of Bitcoin or he would release the video to all of her e-mail contacts. The victim reports that this could not be possible, refused to pay the subject and called the police.

On July 26 at 2:11 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on the 900 block of Route 73. During the motor vehicle stop, patrols detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside of the vehicle. Patrols conducted a search of the vehicle and located a loaded handgun and a scale with marijuana residue on the surface. Patrols arrested the driver, a 24-year-old male from Alexandria, Va. He was charged on a warrant for possession of the handgun, possession of marijuana less than 50 grams and drug paraphernalia. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail.

On July 26 at 12:31 a.m., patrols conducted a suspicious vehicle check on the 4000 block of Church Road. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 30-year-old male driver from Haddonfield for possession of marijuana less than 50 grams and drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released on a summons pending a future court date.

On July 25 at 4:54 p.m., patrols responded to the 900 block of Route 73 for a report of theft. Upon arrival, security reported an employee fraudulently “loaded” $2,427 onto prepaid Visa cards. The thefts occurred between July 7 and July 24. The employee, an 18-year-old female from Browns Mills, admitted to the thefts and was taken into custody. She was released on a summons pending a future court date.

On July 25 at 12:11 p.m., patrols responded to the Target on Centerton Road for a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival, loss prevention staff reported a prior theft of merchandise. The theft occurred on July 20 at approximately 3:39 p.m. but only later discovered by loss prevention as they observed it on CCTV. Investigators identified a 27-year-old male from a previous apprehension in Ocean Township.

On July 25 at 7:23 a.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 500 block of Fellowship Road for a report of a trailer theft. The theft occurred on July 25 between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The trailer is valued at $5,000 and contained several thousand dollars worth of personal belongings.

On July 21 at 11:32 p.m., patrols responded to the Applebees on Route 73 for a report of an unconscious male with a needle in his arm. Upon patrols arrival, the 24-year-old male from Stratford was responsive. He was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment

On July 21 at 4:11 p.m., patrols responded to the Target on Centerton Road for a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival, a loss prevention employee pointed out a vehicle in the parking lot where the merchandise was reported to have been put after the shoplifting. A female was located at the vehicle and denied any knowledge of the shoplifting. She believed that the merchandise was purchased by her boyfriend. Target then recovered the stolen merchandise. A 29-year-old male from Delran was unable to be located, but later he turned himself in at police headquarters. He was arrested and charged with shoplifting. He was released on a summons pending a future court date.

On July 21 at 3:12 p.m., patrols responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting in progress. Store loss prevention reported that a female stole copper pipe and fled the store in a red Jeep Cherokee. Moorestown Police located the vehicle and initiated a motor vehicle stop. The investigation led to the arrest of a 45 year-old-female passenger from Mt. Holly for shoplifting. The 48-year-old male driver from Mt. Holly was also arrested for conspiracy to commit shoplifting. Additional store merchandise was located in the vehicle that was stolen from the Home Depot in Westampton. The female was charged with shoplifting and also receiving stolen property. The male was charged with conspiracy and receiving stolen property. Both were committed to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date.

On July 21 at 12:01 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Autumnwood Lane for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim/residents reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered their unlocked motor vehicles and stole two wallets.

On July 21 at 11:04 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on Crossings Court for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person stole his vehicle out of his driveway. The vehicle was later recovered on East Daisy Lane in Mt. Laurel.

On July 21 at 9:55 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on Sorrel Run for a reported theft from a motor vehicle. The victim/resident reported that at 4 a.m., his video surveillance shows two younger males wearing hooded sweatshirts and sweatpants enter his unlocked vehicle and steal an iPad. The males fled toward Gaskill Road.

On July 20 at 7:39 p.m., patrols responded to the Luk Oil on the 3200 block of Route 38 for a reported shoplifting. The employee reported that a male entered the store and stole an iPhone charger. The male left the parking lot in a vehicle with Pennsylvania license plates.

On July 20 at 7:26 p.m., patrols responded to the area of Elbo Lane and Sawmill Drive for a report of a male sleeping in a vehicle. Upon arrival, patrols located the vehicle occupied by a 52-year-old male from Bensalem, Pa who was observed to be having a medical emergency. Officer located a syringe in the vehicle with an unknown clear substance believed to be narcotics. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

On July 20 at 8:47 a.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road for a fraud complaint. The victim reported that his credit card that was stolen in Cherry Hill was used at the motel to purchase a room. A 31-year-old person of interest from Sparta, who was staying at the motel, was unable to be contacted.

On July 20 at 8:33 a.m., patrols responded to a hotel on Midlantic Drive for a report of a found purse containing marijuana. The investigation led to the arrest of a 21-year-old female from Syracuse, N.Y. for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released on a summons.

On July 19 at 9:29 p.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 in the area of Larchmont Boulevard. A 35-year-old male driver from Mt. Holly was arrested for a child support warrant out of the Camden County Sheriff’s Department and committed to the county jail pending a future court date.

On July 19 at 6:05 p.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 1100 block of Route 73 for a disturbance. While investigating the disturbance complaint, patrols located a 28-year-old female and a 29-year-old female from Camden. Each were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and meth. They were both arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. The 29-year-old was released on a summons pending a future court date. The 28-year-old was charged on a summons and committed to the Burlington County Jail as a wanted person out of Burlington County.

On July 19 at 3:40 p.m., patrols responded to 11,000 Atrium Way for a report of a vehicle with a broken window. The victim reported that sometime between 12:40 p.m. and 3:40 p.m., an unknown person struck her rear passenger side window causing the window to crack. The suspect also attempted to gain entry through the front passenger side window that was also damaged.

On July 19 at 1:17 p.m., a male came into police headquarters to report the theft of a bag containing medication. The male reported that while camping on a property on the 600 block of Hartford Road, an unknown person committed the theft. The male advised that he needed the police report to obtain replacement medication. After an official interview with the complainant, it was determined that the theft did not occur. A 56-year-old male from Beverly admitted to lying about the theft. He was subsequently arrested and charged on a summons with filing a false police report. He was released pending a future court date.

On July 19 at 1:16 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Edinburgh Court for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim/resident reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and stole multiple personal items.

On July 18 at 1:09 p.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 100 block of Diemer Drive for a prostitution complaint. During the investigation, it was determined that the alleged prostitute had an outstanding criminal warrant out of Fort Lee. She was arrested for the outstanding warrant and released pending a future court date.

On July 17 at 10:48 p.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 for motor vehicle violations. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 25-year-old female driver from Browns Mills for possession of marijuana, possession of prescription pills and possession of drug paraphernalia and motor vehicle violations. She was processed and released on a summons pending a future court date.

On July 17 at 2:13 p.m., Mt Laurel Detectives interviewed a 22-year-old male suspect from Mt. Laurel in regards to a shoplifting that occurred on July 3 and July 4 at the “On the Run” at 799 Centerton Road. During the interview, the male admitted to the shoplifting. He was charged with two counts of shoplifting. He was released on a summons pending a future court date.
