Mt. Laurel Schools to hold bond referendum vote to secure funding for district projects

Officials at this week’s Mt. Laurel Schools Board of Education meeting announced the district would be holding a bond referendum on Oct. 2 to secure funding to work on a number of different projects across the district. The district plans to promote specific details of the projects later in August, including plans for full-day kindergarten.

Mt. Laurel Township to host National Night Out on Aug. 7 at Laurel Acres Park

National Night Out returns to Mt. Laurel Township on Aug. 7 to give residents a chance to interact with the township’s first responders in a fun, relaxed setting at Laurel Acres Park. For residents unfamiliar with the event, National Night Out began in 1984 as a way for communities to learn more about their local law enforcement. In the years since, the event has grown into an annual tradition across the nation on the first Tuesday night of August.

Mt. Laurel Meeting Peach Festival returns Aug. 4

One of Mt. Laurel’s longtime, summertime events is set to return for its 27th year when the Mt. Laurel Meeting hosts its annual Peach Festival on Saturday, Aug. 4. Those who look back fondly at the Peach Festivals of years gone by won’t be disappointed, as this year’s event is set to feature the same delicious peaches and fun as past events.

Mt. Laurel Schools BOE reviews Violence, Vandalism, Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Report

Mt. Laurel Schools has released the district’s latest Violence, Vandalism, Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Report for the reporting period from Jan. 1 through June 30. The report is mandated under state law, as school districts in New Jersey are required to publicly release statistics on incidents of violence, vandalism, harassment, intimidation and bullying that take place during the first and second halves of a school year.

Star Watch and Astronomy Night at Rancocas Nature Center on Aug. 3

Although Rancocas State Park measures about 1,250 acres through Mt. Laurel, Westampton and Hainesport townships, the night sky above the park might seem infinite to those below. With that in mind, the Friends of Rancocas Nature Center are set to join with the West Jersey Astronomical Society to co-host the park’s 4th Star Watch/Astronomy Night on Friday, Aug. 3.
