Evesham Township School District to use surplus and emergency reserve to deal with state aid cuts

The Evesham Township School District is looking at a combined loss of about $9 million in state aid by the 2024–2025 school year. Superintendent John Scavelli Jr. outlined those numbers at a special ETSD Board of Education meeting this week, where the board also passed a resolution to deal with an immediate loss of about $815,000 in state aid that was already budgeted for the 2018–2019 school year.

South Jersey players star on first-ever U.S. women’s U20 ball hockey team

A group of South Jersey girls emerged from street hockey rinks around the region to become a part of history this summer. Players from Marlton, Medford and Cherry Hill were part of the first United States women’s U20 ball hockey team. The club traveled to Prerov, Czech Republic, to take part in the ISBHF U20 Girls World Cup earlier this summer. The tournament took place from June 27 through July 1.

Evesham Police arrest Camden pair allegedly attempting to sell heroin in Evesham

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On July 19, officials with the Evesham Township Police Department say a narcotics investigation resulted in the arrest of a male and female who traveled from Camden City to Marlton with the alleged intention to sell 40 bags of heroin to a Marlton resident.

Rowan College at Burlington County students can earn credential for drug and alcohol counseling

Rowan College at Burlington County, an educational provider with the Addiction Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey, Inc. (APCBNJ), is now offering the training required to apply for the Chemical Dependency Associate credential (CDA), which college officials say will provide students with more career opportunities.
