Officials say characters Pinkalicious and Curious George will jump off the page and make a live guest appearance.
Local Kiddie Academy locations in the area invite children and their families to a fun, free, interactive reading at the educational child care provider’s annual “Storytime LIVE!” event on Saturday, Aug. 4 in Marlton and Mt. Laurel.
Officials say characters Pinkalicious and Curious George will jump off the page and make a live guest appearance at the academy to meet attendees, young and old, up close and in person.
Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture the moment.
The Storytime LIVE! event is free and open to everyone, including current students, new friends who would like to learn more about Kiddie Academy and anyone who would simply like to share an experience with their child.
Participating Kiddie Academies will provide light refreshments and educational activities for all in attendance.
“Research shows that shared book reading is linked to young children’s emergent literacy ability and language development, which affect children’s later success in reading,” said Richard Peterson, vice president of education for Kiddie Academy Educational Child Care. “Beyond these early literacy skills, though, is the pleasure of spending quality time together, sharing a favorite story or discovering new favorites, like Pinkalicious and Curious George. We hope you’ll join us for this special event.”
Participating local locations include the Kiddie Academy of Marlton, 101 Merchants Way, and the Kiddie Academy of Mt. Laurel, 100 Birchfield Drive, Suite 101–105.
Those interested can register online at www.kastorytime.com.
Events will take place Saturday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Kiddie Academy serves families and their children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old, offering full time care, kindergarten, before-and after-school care and summer camp programs.
